... twisted it. That was the most horrible feeling that I had ever felt. My mother and I went to the ER and had some x-rays done. It was a while before I found out what had really happened to my ankle. But when that time finally came they told me that I actually broke it. I was so upset that this could happen to me that day out of all other days. Then more bad news, the doctor told me that I couldn’t play for the rest of the year. That made me even more upset. By the next day, everybody in school knew about what happened to me. Everyone knew I wanted to play so bad that week. That’s how it was for the rest of the week. Everyone was feeling sorry for me when all I wanted them to do was leave me alone. Towards the end of the week, my team was ready to play, but without me. The day of the game I limped over to the bench and sat down. Before the game started my coach got up and went to the microphone. He asked if I could come up to him. I didn’t really know what was happening at the time but I went up there anyway. He stood there with this grin on his face.
