I believe that the purpose of this story was to prove that there are bumps in life and it makes you stronger as you move on. In Desiree’s Baby, it honestly took me a couple times to read this story to understand it. I found it quite heartbreaking how Desiree’s husband found no interest in her anymore. This is one of the parts that I did not understand.
