A worm

...t going to have another bite, I felt something moving in the peach. I’m right; a pinkish worm was struggling to raise his tiny brown head to greet me. Startled, I threw up the peach in my mouth and cast the left onto the desk, which overturned the tea, which soaked my essay book. Oh drat! The peaceful air was broken and the hateful worm was the only one that should be to blame. I was so angry that I wanted to kill the worm. I cut the peach into many pieces so that he had no enough room to live in. With no backbone or legs, he twisted his way upon his fat belly. Helplessly, he moved slowly in no direction and with a velvet body, he couldn’t crawl smoothly. Suddenly, a feeling of pity for him flashed into my mind. After all, he was a life, although tiny. So rather than killing him, I decided to help him. With a plastic straw, I put him into a glass and cut a piece of peach for him and then put the glass on the windowsill. Ridiculous, it was my first time to keep a worm as a “pet”! In the following days, I was so busy with my paper that the worm had slipped out of my mind completely. Last Friday, after I turned in my paper, the worm jumped again into my mind. I rushed to the glass but saw no one in except the quiet lying peach.
