The arroyo was a place where they had fun and could be free. They didn’t care that it was a place where sewage was emptied. Another example of why the boys saw nature as perfect was when they found a ball. Only a child could be so excited about a ball. They didn’t really even know what it was but to them it was perfect. But they buried it and lost it. The boys considered heaven as being a place with green grass, birds, and lots of trees even though it was only a golf course. Unfortunatly, everything that they thought was perfect got taken away. The boys learned that things do get taken away. Nature is indifferent and it teaches kids things.
