Should parents be held accountable for their children's actions?
...of which they are under control. Everyone makes mistakes but refusing to correct those mistakes is just being lazy. When a parent is enforcing behavior, positive behavior should be praised and rewarded. On the other hand negative behavior should be dealt with appropriately and consequences should be mandatorily given. For example, "If you allow your child at the age of 13 to be out with friends till 1 in the morning wondering the streets, you as the parent should not be surprised when the child comes home in a police car." All children need boundaries and limitations. It is good for a parent to have a strong and open relationship with their child but at the same time the parent needs to remember that their job is to enforce rules and if they were meant to be their child's best friend, they would be the same age.
