...ant in the development of America as a country. In 1848 Elizabeth Stanton and Lucretia wanted to hold a women’s right convention. They announced that the convention which would be held would be known as the Seneca Falls Convention because it was held in Seneca, New York. They made an agenda and a list of detailed statements of injustice done toward women. Stanton carefully created the “Declaration of Sentiments” and she modeled it like the Declaration of Independence. At the Wesleyan Methodist Center 300 men ad women were gathered for the convention. There men and women agreed to support women to participate in all public issues on an equal basis with men. Seneca Falls Convention was the starting step for the women’s right movement to take place. This was very significant because without this, the women right movement wouldn’t be stirred. Without women having equal right, our country wouldn’t be what it is today. Women wouldn’t be allowed to vote, work, and state their views on public issues. Shay’s Rebellion played a great in the development of American history as well. Daniel Shays was the starting cause for the rebellion. He fought in the Revolutionary War battles at Bunker Hill and Saratoga and he was a veteran. After the war he returned to his farm in Massachusetts. When he returned he faced debtor’s prison because of the heavy debt he carried, and he felt that he was being taxed too much. Farmers like Shays in the summer and fall of 178 were insisting that the courts should be closed so they wouldn’t lose their farms to creditors. In September of 1786 Shays led an army of farmers to close the courts. He led an army of 1200 farmers in 1787. This rebellion showed clearly that there was something wrong if so many people were rebelling. The rebellion brought to private property and the nation’s reputation. Shays Rebellion was important because it showed that the earlier government of America was too weak. George Washing won’t have addressed this issue if Shay’s Rebellion was not created and because of it a stronger government was created which lead to be prosperous.
