The 2004 U.S. Senator election in Illinois was historical. It was the first time when the election featured African Americans for both the Democratic and Republican Party. Obama easily won the election with 70% of the vote. Lately Barack has received much media coverage from his keynote in the 2004 Democrat National Convention when his won his seat as a U.S Senator.
