America's Role in The World

...o helps negotiate in rebellions and in overthrowing Dictator governments like Saddam Hussein’s regime. America stops the threat of aggression and creation of “Weapons of Mass Destruction” in countries like Iraq, Iran and North Korea. America doesn’t encourage underdeveloped countries to make nuclear weapons especially countries that are not capable of making nuclear power safe. As much as possible the U.S.A. negotiates with these countries but sometimes when things get rough like what happened in Iraq, the U.S.A. took steps and used their military presence in Iraq and finds the alleged “Weapons of Mass Destruction” of Saddam Hussein. But when America didn’t find those “Weapons of Mass Destruction” some of its allies only think that the U.S.A. is in Iraq because of its oil reserves. Some people think that the government is doing this because the Bush family has a lot of businesses regarding oil production and are getting those reserves for their own profits. Others think that the U.S.A. is getting these oil reserves so that in the future when oil becomes rare the U.S.A. can really profit in selling the commodity to the world market. And yet other people think that America is doing this for our own freedom and safety. There are a lot of opinions and perceptions. Some are good, some are bad. Its our choice where to believe in. Economically America became very strong and took place in almost all trade agreements and associations. They controlled the flow of trade and commerce throughout the world. Almost all of the countries in the world are trade partners with America. Being a trade partner of America is essential to a nation’s economy. When Cuba supported the Soviet Union in the height of the Cold War, America lifted a trade embargo to Cuba and also other nations that support America stopped trade with Cuba. It made Cuba suffer alot Schallman 3 and further became an underdeveloped country. Being an enemy of America is very dangerous not only in military terms but also economically. When America was attacked recently by the “Al Qaeda” during 9/11, America became very aggressive against its war on terrorism. But the problem is unlike past wars and conflicts the “Al Qaeda terrorist organization” does not represent a country, so America doesn’t have an enemy country instead enemies in a lot of countries, including some countries that has close ties to them. It is not easy to find terrorists and sometimes the innocent are the ones who are getting caught thus creating more Muslim-American tension and having more people that’s angry with America. America is not the only one that was attacked by terrorists but also the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, Indonesia and many more. It made a terrible effect to these countries especially in economic terms. This made America more committed to its role as protector and peacekeeper. But some countries don’t agree with that because they think that if they depend on the U.S.A. for protection they will be more endangered to terrorists.
