Deception in The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet

(3:2.42-65) The Nurse not knowing Juliet is alive, goes into immediate sadness and mourning for her lost Juliet. Juliet, the closest thing to a daughter the Nurse ever had, supposedly dead, leaving the Nurse with no one. Allowing Juliet to get married to Romeo, and making meetings with Romeo supports the downfall of the couple. The Nurse tends to think and act slightly rash. Her decision to allow the couple to wed, being one of her rash decisions that has deadly reprecautions. The nurse loved Juliet so much that she would do anything to make her happy. Allowing her to get married to Romeo may not have been the smartest move but The Nurse knows what will make Juliet happy. The Nurses undying companionate love for Juliet , Catherine Dominic expresses in the following excerpt from a character analysis she wrote about the Nurse. The Nurses affection for Juliet remains constant throughout the play, even if her advice is of questionable value (Dominic 391) the life of the nurse revolves around Juliet, making her happy, tending to her need, and attempting to keep her same. The nurse is deceived by her own desire to make Juliet happy. This selfless behavior leads to bad decisions, and eventually unintended death. Romeo blind by true love allows deception to ruin him. Romeo, a hasty young man, first in love with Rosaline, then, upon seeing Juliet falls deeply in love with her. Friar Laurence questions this love, however after Romeo reassures him, he gives into marrying the couple. Romeo truly believes his and Juliets meeting to truly be fate. So he takes all the steps to marriage. However once the couple is wed, things take a turn for the worst. of the deception occurs during the scene where The Capulet servant approaches Romeo and Benvolio, as mentioned by Tomas his would be lover, Rosaline, has been asked to attend the Capulet fest. Benvolio suggests that he and Romeo attend the feast srved to be exiled is victim, to deception.
