BHS has a holiday year and it runs from the 1st April to the 31st March, for the employee it is based on 13 pay periods between the two days, this is due to the busier time of the year when employees for the business are needing more money, but it is also encouraging staff to work more through the holiday period. In the contract it states that no employee is obligated to take a holiday, however the company has reserved the right to give staff a notice for a holiday. When it comes to calculating how many days an employee is allowed to take off for holidays it has to take into consideration how many days an employee has taken off work for another previous holiday.
