...s a good description of what the weather was like and it also relates to the theme, what it must fell like for a homeless person on a horrible, cold day. Link also talks about the time of year the book was set in spring and winter you know this because of the types of weather that he talks about. There are two main characters in “Stone Cold”, Link and Shelter, Shelter love on the ground floor of a flat in London, he used to be in the army but he takes in homeless people and kills them! He stores their bodies under the floorboards. He thinks its ok to kill because that’s what he did in the army and he thinks kill the homeless is cleaning up the streets. The theme of the book is to make you understand what life is like living on the streets as a homeless person. The book “Stone Cold” is about a boy called Link who ran away from his life at home to live on the streets. He made himself homeless because of his mother’s boyfriend Vince. Him and Link didn’t get along with each other and Vince sometimes locked Link out of the house and kept on picking at him. So one day he decided to live on the streets and for a while he lived on the streets of Bradford before he remembered about London. On his first couple of nights in London, he found it hard, he got his watch stolen which was the only thing he had left from his mother but then one night a stranger came up to him and asked him if he would kindly share his doorway with him. His name was Ginger, him and Link became good friends, and Ginger helped him out and taught him how to survive on the streets. But one day Ginger went missing, Link went asking around to see if anyone had seen him and that’s when he meet Gail. Link thought she was amazing and look really good for somebody who lived on the streets. Link told her all about Ginger and how he went missing so they went out looking for him and they passed a block of flats and outside one of them was Gingers backpack and the window had been smashed, Gail went running of for help and Link went in, he walked into the first room of the first flat and he saw that the floorboards were up, he looked down under the floor and there were 8 dead bodies dressed in army boots and one of them was Ginger, Link was shocked and when he looked around there was a man who he had seen before it was shelter, he came towards him and grab him but then suddenly Gail ran in with the police and a man in a long black coat, shelter got arrested and Link turned round and asked what was going on. Link found out that Gail was an undercover reporter finding out about homeless people and the man in the coat was her boyfriend.
