One night Nick receives and invitation to attend one of the lavish parties that are frequently thrown at his neighbor’s house. When he arrives he realizes he knows nobody there, until he spots Jordan. Later he gets a chance to speak with his host for a while and finds that Gatsby’s past is something that’s deserves question. The next time Jordan and Nick speak she tells him that Gatsby would like it if Nick would invite both Daisy and Jay over for tea so they can be reunited since before Gatsby left to fight in the war he was in love with Daisy and still is. After seeing each other at Nick’s house they fall back in love with each other on the spot. Tom eventually realizes that Gatsby is in love with his wife and while the entire group is in the city he confronts Gatsby about it and then reveals the illegal way in which Gatsby amassed his fortune. When the car containing Tom, Nick and Jordan passes by the work shop of Myrtle’s husband, Tom notices a disturbance...
