This confirmed his suspicions that there was one God for his people. Over the next 10 years, Zoroaster struggled in his attempts to enlighten his people with the knowledge of his vision, but his ideas and beliefs were not accepted. Zoroaster had almost given up that he decided to travel to the king of his people, King Vishtaspta, and tell him of his religious findings. Zoroaster succeeded, and that day the King and his wife converted his religiong. Thus, was the beginning of the religiong of Zoroastrianism, the first known monotheistic religion. This religion has effected many of the religions people practice today, these religions were branched off of Zoroastrianism. There are many ways in which we can see the influence of Zoroastrianism in the Judeo-Christian faith. The first and most important way is with the idea of monotheism. It is believed that Zoroastrianism is the first monotheistic religion, causing a shift from earlier polytheistic religions. Another similarity between these two religions is the idea of Heaven, Hell, and an afterlife. A word for heaven in the Bible is Paradise, this word comes from the anceint Iranian words "pairi-daeza", meaning enclosed garden. It is also thought that the Jewish idea of a Messiah, or a coming savior, came from the Zoroastrianism teachings. These Messiahs are described similarly in both testaments, as being not a single God, but only as a person who will bring good to their people, which could even take the role of a king. So now we will talk about Christianity, due to the effects we have seen on this religion by Zoroastrianism. Christianity came after Judiasm, it was first practiced by the Jews in middle Eastern countries. The Christian faith is the largest and most practiced faith today all around the world. This faith mainly has a positive effect on it's followers. In the Christianity religion you have an afterlife. This life is either spend in heaven, or in the ever burning hell.
