TV Violence Is Harming Our Children
...use of the violence kids as well as adults see on their television sets. It may be true that violence cannot be stopped, however it can be minimized, if and only if there are certain restrictions put on the news channels for their very graphic portrayal of violence on the streets and in the world today. Everyday we hear how a little child killed another little child because he or she was playing with his or her father’s gun and when the little child was asked why he or she did it. You know what their reply is? “I saw it on television.” If we are hearing this from a little child’s mouth, then why don’t we do something about, why don’t the television producers do something about it? You want to know why they don’t do something about it? I’ll tell you why, because they’re afraid that their ratings will go down. Oh come on, your ratings will go down, that’s all you care about, don’t you care about the fact that innocent children die everyday because of the crude violence you show on television. What is the world coming to? I ask you, the people, no the mothers and fathers of America, do you want your son or daughter to grow up and become a murder...
