...ntured into offshore activities for the Oil & Gas industry, providing marine spreads for Pipelay, Installation and Hook-up works. Today, NPCC owns a dedicated marine fleet consisting 13 construction barges, capable of transportation of up to 12,000 tons, lifting single structures weighing up to 2,600 tons, laying submarine pipelines up to 60” in diameter and hook-up and maintenance works. In 1986, with the intention of serving onshore projects, NPCC ventured into manufacturing Storage Tanks & Spheres for storing various types of petroleum products such as; liquid sulphur, water, diesel oil, crude oil, liquefied natural gas (LNG), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), etc. In 1992, NPCC expanded its engineering capability for designing onshore & offshore facilities, loading terminals, storage tanks, pressure vessels and pipelines. Presently, NPCC has over 300 dedicated engineering staff to support the ongoing operations. The design team is fully equipped with latest state-of-the-art computers/softwares to meet engineering challenges. In 1994, NPCC certified its Quality System to ISO-9001:1994 by Lloyds Register of Quality Assurance (LRQA) and became the first offshore construction company in the Eastern world to receive this stringent version of Quality System. In November 2003, NPCC had its quality system certified to the ISO 9001:2000 version of the standard by LRQA. Risk: As part of its execution strategy, NPCC will take risk and opportunity response into account during development of its project management plan. NPCC has successfully established project risk and opportunity management in its program. The process includes identifying & assessing the risk, controlling and responding to risk factors through out the life of the project and in the best interest of its objectives. Risk and opportunities are characterized by their potential impact and by their probability of occurrence. Stability: NPCC’s dynamic growth, achievements & good reputation over the years, have secured a major market share in the business of development of the Oil and Gas Industry. This continuity at work enhanced the long term relationship with customers, employee, suppliers and other stakeholders. It always been the NPCC policy to retain its employee and reward good performers; this provided a job satisfaction and created a sense of stability that enabled employee to participate actively in the organization & the society as well. People orientation: NPCC believes that employees are the main asset of the company and that organization must train employees rapidly and efficiently in order to remain competitive with a globally changing business world. Accordingly, NPCC implemented a strategic plan to continuously invest on training & developing its employee at all levels. Activities include customized in-house training, assigning task force/ committees, job rotation, public seminars / conferences and recently, NPCC launched an e-leadership development program in association with SkillSoft , one of the largest most prominent e-learning global provider, to equip its employee with tools & skills to be better performer and have the competencies they need to excel in their jobs & increase productivity.
