Nora's Immaturity in "A Doll's House"

This can be described as immature because she did not think the whole action through. She could have covered her tracks so as not to be caught. Even more so, she should have asked her father for the money up front in stead of lying about it. Another characteristic of Nora that makes her an immature character is how she interacts with her children. While most adults speak to their children like adults, Nora seems to put herself on the same level as they. One quote that show this is when Nora is talking to her children: Children- “No mother; but will you come and play again?” Nora- “No, no not now.” Children-“But mother you promised us.” Nora- “Yes but I cant now, run away in; I have such a lot to do; run away in my sweet little darlings. In this scene, the reader can see that Nora puts herself on the same level as her children, even acting as if she is one of them. This also adds to Nora’s immaturity because she has the mental image of herself as a child also. Because Nora is not on the same maturity level as her husband, she often does not think about how her actions will affect the future.
