Her husband tells her that she’s so sick and needs to rest. So then she starts to go crazy because she looks at this wallpaper and that’s all she has. This woman has a kid but doesn’t take care of it because she’s going through this depression stage. But the woman as she is lying in bed starts to see things in the wallpaper. The woman thinks there are many people in the wallpaper, “The woman behind shakes it! Sometimes I think there are a great many women behind, and sometimes only one, and she crawls around fast, and her crawling shakes it all over” Gillman p.581.
