Internal migration within Britain Internal migration is the difference between internal in-migration to an area and internal out-migration from the same area during a time period. I will concentrate my studies to recent years, (~2000-current time) as it is the most relevant data we have for the predictions of the future. After researching information on the Census (Sources: Census, April 2001, Office for National Statistics); I have discovered that the internal migration of people within Britain in recent years is around 11% (one in ten people). It is likely that the push and pull factors associated with the different areas of Britain have had some affect on this. Hypothesis: ‘The factors contributing to Britain’s North-South divide have had a significant impact on the internal migration of the people living there.’ Aim and objective: To determine how the push and pull factors of Britain have had an impact on the internal migration of the people living there, and how significantly this has had an affect on Britain’s North-South divide. Questionnaire for estate agents (Method) One method I will use for this investigation will be to create a questionnaire for estate agents to answer.
