...something more than a house, it is not simply the place where we sleep but our refuge, our place of comfort, it is our one little notch in this great big world where we dont feel awkward or left out, it is indeed the place we feel most welcomed. Would i consider my place of birth as my home? Undoubtedly so, it is afterall the place i have lived in for more than half of my life, it is the place that when i wake up every morning i know where to go what to do and how I would liek to spend my free time. People may argue "how can just a vast land area be your home!" and they are not necessarily wrong. However singapore is not a vast land area, nor is it vastly different. If i was at the norht end of this country then moved to the south id still feel at home. Id still visit orchard road every other day, id still go to the same school every weekday and id still visit my grandparents when i could. Singapore is where i feel comfortable, i wouldnt feel comfortable along the streets of China, Russia or even the United States. Singapore is a place where i can travel freely, from back to front, east to west, and still feel at home. Singapore for me is more than a slab of land, an area of familiarity, Singapore is in itself a culture i feel welcomed in. The whole Singapore culture may be an idea foreign to some that licve here.
