The Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award was created in 1996 to honor Canadian caregivers and volunteers. Canadians citizens are encouraged to visit Rideau hall. The grounds are open every day from 8 AM to one hour before sunset year round. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the grounds, with a picnic area and play structure for children.
