... to go before he can claim he has turned things around. A new CNN/USA Today poll showed 55% of Americans don't think the U.S. will be able to establish a stable democracy in Iraq. On the other hand, by a margin of 37% to 31%, the poll also indicated Americans say today's Iraqi elections will lead to more violence rather than more stability. Meanwhile, In Iraq a loud explosion sounded across Baghdad moments after the polls opened early today, but there were no immediate reports of casualties. Security for the vote, the first election for a full-term parliament since Saddam's fall, was extremely tight in a proposal to prevent rebellious attacks. However, Bush said in an interview with Fox News that Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has "done a heck of a job" and credited him with converting the military from "post-Cold War to one that is going to be constructed to fight terrorism." In addition, Bush said that he hoped Rumsfeld would stay on at the pentagon. This Issue towards the parliamentary elections in Iraq affects the United States in a way that if the Iraqi government establishes a stable democracy then there isn’t going to be anymore war against Iraq. As a result, United States wouldn’t be suffering the consequences of this war, because government is not going to spend anymore money on weapons, food, clothes and supporting Iraq. But more importantly, it would save the lives of many US military soldiers that have been fighting this war over a year. On the other hand, if Iraq doesn’t establishes a stable democracy government then the war with Iraq will continue until they establish a stable democracy. Therefore, the US government will keep spending money on this war and will support Iraq economically. Thus, the American people will suffer the consequences of this war, because they are the ones who make up the population and support the United States. As a result...
