...ld propose that there are two separate creations. One of man who populated the whole earth and would have been in existence for thousands of years prior to the creation of Adam. This would also explain the existence of old archaelogical evidence highlighting life on earth many tens thousands of years ago, whereas we can count about 6,00 years back to Adam. This would also explain the development of different races all over the world and eliminate arguments about Adam's racial cicumstances. So when Cain was removed from the local area there would have been others races in existence who may well have killed him. Of significance also is that there are different names used to describe God in Genesis One and Two. In One the term God is more of a general term whereas in Two Lord is used which indicates a more personal revelation of God to Adam in the garden.
