This is an important thing to remember.” Juror number 9 strongly believes in the fact that if there happens to be some form of reasonable doubt, then it is your responsibility to vote “not guilty”. He shows this when he changes his vote because of the fact that juror number 8 feels so strongly in his opinions, and he believes that he finds some reasonable doubt. Both jurors number 8 and 9 show the honest and true side of the jury process, but not all jurors show those admirable qualities. Even though there happens to be only a few honest jurors in the group of men in the play, some prove to be not so honest, and they actually show selfish and stubborn ways of thinking. “Everybody gets a fair trial…That’s the system.” Even though this quote seems to prove true, it is not always that way. Juror number 3 demonstrates the selfish and stubborn ways of thinking that I previously stated. “Well you’re not going to intimidate me! I’m entitled to my opinion! It’s gonna be a hung jury! That’s it!” He proves to be a very stubborn man. He does not even want to listen to anybody else’s opinion. Juror number 10 also thinks in an unfair way. “You’re not going to tell us that we’re supposed to believe him, knowing what he is. I’ve lived among ‘em all my life. You can’t believe a word they say. You know that.” His stereotypic way of thinking demonstrates how a trial should not work. Stereotypes lead you in a way of thinking that proves to be very unfair...
