I think Disney wanted to expand its sales, because a theme park is a very good way to make business. I also think that maybe in the U.S. there is no market for a third Disney’s Theme Park. Disney is world wide know company, and its earnings come from all over the world, so is important to keep its presence in different countries, specially countries with great acquisition power and mayor population. The pros for Disney maybe the expansion of the company with bigger earnings, the good publicity for its trade mark, the opportunity to be known in countries Disney hadn’t reached and the advantage to have cheaper providers. The cons are the risks of invert in a new country, the little knowledge of the foreign market, the different types of culture and the barriers that may exist between the foreign culture and its culture. 2. - Why do you suppose Disney made no financial investment in Japan, one of $140 million in France, and then one of over $300 million in Hong Kong? I think this happened because of the different economic situation in the countries. China is a country with a great potential, due to its increasing growth and because China have one of the biggest populations in the world. Besides, if they want to be ready for the great amount of people expected in 2008, they need to expend more money. Maybe in France Disney decided to invest less money and get more control over the theme park or maybe in France didn’t took as much money. I think...
