hydroen fuel cell cars
...g of electrolysis, electricity, water, and heat. As far as performance goes, fuel cell cars are similar to electric vehicles. Using fuel cell cars instead of petroleum fuelled vehicles would do great things for our environment. Instead of the large amounts of pollution that the internal combustion engines produce, fuel cell cars simply produce water. A fuel cell car running on renewable hydrogen creates no pollution at all, while a gas combustion engine produces 0.85 pounds of carbon monoxide ever mile it goes. An increase in hydrogen fuel cell cars would reduce the trade deficit and produce American jobs. Some of the problems with fuel cells are refining the hydrogen, transporting it, and storing the hydrogen. The electrolysis process to refine hydrogen needs large amounts of energy, which depending on the source, could pollute the earth if a hydrocarbon fuel was used. If we would use solar power plants to refine the hydrogen, it might become cheaper to refine, but solar power plants are currently inefficient and expensive. In order to move and store large quantities of hydrogen, it needs to be compressed into liquid, which also demands energy to do. Another big expense factor is the millions of dollars needed to fit ga...
