a well known skid

...ok at accident scenes. I heard on the news that there was a big accident up the street from my house on Stossell Creek Road, just down from where anyone who is anyone in Duvall has been, either to party, drink, or shoot guns in makeshift ranges. Before I had seen the news that night I had heard the helicopter fly overheard, that whirring sound always means that something critical has happened. I went to bed that night of Cinco de Mayo 2001 after watching the news wondering if I knew the person that was involved in the accident. The news had not said the sex, ages, or from where the people in the accident were from. My phone awoke me quite early on the morning after the accident it was my mom she said that she had something extremely important to tell me, and that she needed to do it in person, but she wouldn’t tell me why. My mom came up around 8:45 in the morning I had no idea that the news would change my life forever. My mom informed me the accident that had happened the night before involved Scott, my best friend, and that he was the one that they had to airlift to Harborview Hospital. My heart sank, there had never been an accident in my life that I knew someone who was involved. I spent most of the morning trying the find out if he was going to be okay, what had happened to him and if there was anyway I could go to the hospital. It turned out that he was more serious than anyone had thought. The whole right side of his face was a bruise from where his head had hit the side of the car. His mother had said that she didn’t want anyone to see him in the state he was in, which made everyone want to see him even more than they already did. There was nothing else that the doctors could do but wait for a miracle, and waiting wouldn’t get us anywhere. I found out from his best guy friend that he was on life support and his parents had decided it was best not to keep him in pain, but it better to pull the plug on his life and let him pass away. It was late afternoon, the day after the accident, and I heard the news that they had done it, they had really turned off the life support; my best friend was dead. After his groups of friends heard the news, we all gathered at the scene of the accident. When we first got there I noticed the biggest skid marks I had ever seen in my life. The skid marks were from the school bus that had to slam on its breaks to avoid hitting the little car that was swerving in the middle of the road, and traveling way too fast. When I wandered to the other side of the accident scene, I saw another set of skid marks, the ones from the car they were short, letting me know that they didn’t know what was coming the driver didn’t know that she was about the kill my best friend. Where the small cars skid marks end is where they hit a tree, the whole right side of the tree was without its bark and with the inside scraped clean, the wood looked fresh and new, not like someone had died there the day before. Next to the tree were several bloodstains on the cement, where someone had gotten out of the car. The place where it was believed that is girlfriend held him until help arrived. Underneath the tree were flowers, candles, and balloons, anything that anyone could bring that would help to extinguish the pain from the day before. Everyone that was at the scene was so curious, we walked through the ...
