Green Day in Michigan
...iday, November 4th, 2004 extremely early in the morning and arrive well into the evening, go to the concert Saturday the 5th at 7pm and then leave around 10 o’clock Sunday morning. Things didn’t go as planned. We had just driven through Chicago when we decided to stop for gas. At this point it was after 8 o’clock and we were almost to our destination. After filling up we consulted our directions and saw that it told us we wanted to drive back through Chicago. Thinking about it we decided that couldn’t be right and that the directions were wrong so we came to decision to head the opposite way. It being late Candice and I fell asleep while Earl was driving. Around four in the morning Earl wakes us up to finally tell us that he thinks we were wrong and that we had needed to just listen to the directions. He made the decision to stop and look for a map of Michigan to see how far off course we had gone. We looked everywhere at that rest stop to find a map of Michigan just to find maps of Wisconsin. Extremely confused we picked up the map of Wisconsin and looked to see where we had gone. We found the highway we were on and figured out that we were a few miles outside of St. Paul.
