When I was in the sixth grade one of my best friends died from a gun accident. His name was Nathan and he was twelve years old. We would always play football during recess and he was a really good friend. It was an average day at school and my friend suggested that we hang out at our friend Brandon’s house after school. They had invited me to go, but my Mom had grounded me so I was unable to go. They were all playing video games and Nathan made Brandon mad because he was hogging the playstation so Brandon did something he knew would scare Nathan. Nathan had always been afraid of guns and Brandon and his family were big hunters so he knew where all the guns were and how to get to them. Brandon’s Mom and Dad made the deadly mistake of trusting their son with the responsibility to make the right decision when it came to playing with guns. Brandon went to the cabinet and took out what he thought to be an unloaded gun. Brandon came back in the room and pointed the gun at Nathan. Nathan tried to ignore Brandon and act like it didn’t bother him, but it was obvious to Brandon and the other boys that it did. To scare Nathan, Brandon pretended to shoot the gun and he pulled the trigger. Nathan was killed instantly. ...
