Is He Coming Again?
...er hear the call of its Creator. God and Jesus Christ are one person. In the Bible in the Book of John, the writer states “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God / All things were made by him and without him was not anything made that was made” (Chapter 1: 1, 3). Also, in the Book of John, it is written in Chapter 1: 14 “And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory”. Jesus tells us in John 10:30, “I and my Father are one”. Jesus Christ is our Creator. A falcon is controlled by the falconer. Mankind is controlled by Jesus Christ. The falcon is mankind; the falconer is Jesus Christ. Mankind has moved so far way from Jesus that it can no longer hear his call. As a result, Christ loses control of mankind. Peace and innocence is lost, but wars and turmoil are found. Further evidence of an inhumane society is “The best lack all conviction while the worst / Are full of passionate intensity” (7-8). The people who once believed in Christ now seem to be losing their belief and are silent. Those that have no belief are now the ones that are being heard. People are moving farther and farther away from Christ. The world is falling apart. Chaos and destruction that is now rampant in the world is also evidence of a Second Coming. The speaker states “The blood-dimmed tide is loosed and everywhere” (5). A blood dimmed tide gives the reader a vision of an ocean that that is filled with blood. So many people are losing their lives that the ocean tides are overflowing with blood. The world that Christ once held together is now being torn apart by chaos and destruction of wars. A new world order is about to be in control. The speaker states that “A vast image out of Spiritus Mundi/ Troubles my sight somewhere in sands of the desert/ A shape with lion body and the head of a man/ A gaze as pitiless as the sun/ Slouches toward Bethlehem to be born” (12-15, 22).
