... Johnny Cade, Ponyboy, and the rest of the gang. Reading however, could only take my imagination so far. I needed images, dialogue, and music to make the situation complete. I have never seen a movie that goes along with the original novel so well. From the rumbles to the slow and emotional narrations of young Ponyboy Curtis, this film was accurate beyond belief. I am an average American teenage boy, and sometimes it is very difficult for me to come into acceptance with thousands of random words wedged between two covers. I need more and without this film this might not have happened for me. I understood there lifestyle, thoughts, and not to mention finally being able to know what the really looked liked was a huge benefit to me. Did Francis Capolla even right a script for this movie, because to me it just seems like he copied and pasted it out of the book. I know I am beginning to sound repetitive but I seriously do not know how to compare two things as identical as this book and this movie. While reading, many of the moments when I was supposed to be paying attention I spent picturing what the drive-in theatre was like, the expression on Johnny’s face during the fire, or even how tough Dallas really looked according to Pony.
