...e. Respect is one of the most important keys to getting up the ladder and succeeding in many aspects of life. The regard I have developed for teachers has come from knowing that I will need their help to make it through school and I can only get it by being respectful and polite. My educational journey has been marked by many incredible teachers and experiences. I am very fortunate to have been a student to some of the greatest, however sadly unknown teachers. I have had unfortunately some too serious and unusual teachers who weren’t even interested in the subjects they teach and had disturbing teaching style that didn’t attract our attention. My early experiences as a student had little effect on shaping my life. I was too young to have any sincere interest in my education at that point. Everyone has that one teacher who would be so inspirational, so incredible, that you want to tell the world how great he/she is – and this was my chance! My first truly inspirational teacher was my 5th and 6th grade teacher. Mr. Zador, who taught me that learning, and the development of mind, is not reserved to just reading, writing and mathematics. Mr. Zador taught us the critical thinking benefits of chess, of paying attention to collecting stamp, to political and historical aspects, and to the consequences of the wars and revolutions, and to the scientific aspects of rockets and other inventions. And most notably, the courage to petition against higher powers for redress. I also encountered teachers, who didn’t care about educating students in the right way, education wasn’t in their blood. Those teachers were doing their duties just to receive their income at the end of the year. They didn’t make any influence or change in my life; they were just there as if they didn’t even exist. The next years of my life, was composed of many great and influential teachers such as Mr. Ali, my 10th grade history teacher. “Mr. A” taught us with great passion and love for history, such as the coliseum gladiator fights in ancient Rome. He had the ability to take a dry historical event and make it fascinating filled with learning and humor.
