What came first: the chicken or the egg?
...ionism is the belief in biological evolution and the creation of the universe through some natural significance. Evolutionists feel that the universe was created approximately 14 billion years ago and the earth, 4.5 billion years ago, thus believing the egg (a.k.a. some matter within the universe) came first. The egg hatched (a.k.a. the Big Bang) and evolved into what we have today. They believe in the Darwinian theory that life began as bacteria or some type of single-cell organism embedded deep inside rock and has evolved to adapt to the habitat. Evolutionists are normally strong atheists, who believe in no higher power. There are some evolutionists, however, who do believe in a higher power, thus believing in Theistic Evolution. This is very similar to Natural Evolution, yet these people feel that it was just a tool used by God. They believe that He created the universe but let it evolve, as scientists have tried to prove. The Catholic Church professes, “I believe in God the father almighty, creator of heaven and earth” in the Apostles Creed. The Nicene Creed also adds, “of all that is seen and unseen”. This proves that the Church is a strong believer in Creationism. God created all that is out there. This leaves one question; do they believe in the New Earth, or intelligent design? Pope John Paul II recently issued a statement saying that science and the theory of Evolution has great credibility, yet he still believes that God had a role in the creation, thus he is a believer of intelligent design. He feels that science should “uphold the role of God in creation”. Though the story of Adam and Eve has been taught as a fictional story, how fictitious is it? Do Adam and Eve have possible scientific credibility? There has been an ongoing battle between Creationists and Evolutionists ever since the Darwinian theory was credited as possibly being true. Charles Darwin, the original Evolutionist, believed that after a Big Bang, approximately four billion years ago, all life evolved through random and natural selection. He believed that either chance eliminated a species or that the weaker species did not survive, thus making improvements on the surviving species. He also felt that each improvement was a basis for further improvements. His main argument was the human similarity to that of the apes of both living and extinct. He noticed our similarities of structure and evolution of brain size and head shape. The Darwinian theory is quite credible yet there is quite controversial evidence. For example, anthropologist Richard Leakey found a skull of a modern human that was said to be 2.8 million years old. After careful examination of the scull, he proclaimed, "Either we toss out this skull, or we toss out our theories of early man". Based on the Darwinian theory, modern man did not exist 2.8 million years ago. Is this a fluke? Was the skull misexamined? Is it a sign? Also, his theory is based that all constants have remained the same over the four billion years, such as speed of light and decay rates. Who is to say that these have all remained the same for four billion years? Creation science is also being examined and argued against quite intensely. Skeptics feel that if the world was created 10,000 years ago, there would be definite proof of its age. They ask how can they explain the age of such things as stars, rocks and trees that have been dated back millions of years. To this Creationists say that God created the world to look as if it had been evolving billions of years before. He could have created trees having rings to look ...
