...many errors of pronunciation. This research attempts to find out the problems faced by Pakistani students in pronouncing English vowel sounds. This research will be qualitative and partially quantitative. The method used for this research is the case study method. The case study method is used in order to do an in depth analysis of the errors made by the students. There are two common factors responsible for the errors of pronunciation made by the students that are the spelling and the first language interference. It can be said that the students are normally ignorant of the disassociation between English spelling and sounds. They also unconsciously articulate the vowel sounds of their first language in place of English vowel sounds.
