Doctors Without Borders

...volved with Doctors Without Borders. Levinas said that everyone on this earth is a unique expression of God, and that the faces of those people call us to respond. I believe that that’s absolutely true, because how can one not respond and try to help when you see the disturbing images of all the sick, demoralized people living in poverty. Men, women, and especially children all over the world are dieing because they simply don’t have the money for the bare essentials that we take for granted everyday. Doctors Without Borders tries to treat the many illnesses suffered by these people, by giving them access to essential medicines, supplies and health care to improve their quality of life. Furthermore, Kant told us that good is achieved when we act out of duty, good is that which is universal. Humanity must stick together, and for those who are wealthier, it is their job to help those in need. Doctors Without Borders was established to do just that, as they try to give back and help those less fortunate. Through our conscience we are also called to realize what is good.
