...tual Adoration. She then received her vocation to become a nun and joined the sister at the age of fifteen. She entered through Rose Convent in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. It was at this convent she was given the name Thea. Thea Bowman was and extraordinary teacher and taught her students for sixteen years. She taught at elementary as well as secondary University students. The bishop in Jackson, Mississippi asked her to be the consultant for intercultural awareness. One thing about sister Bowman she loved being African American and love learning new cultures and traditions. She would travel across the country and break cultural barriers, helped kids communicate with one another, and enlightened many about their cultures from what she learned. Her joyful personality made it easy for her to meet new people and get acquainted with strangers. She was one to be known by her wondrous musical talents. She was always seen dancing and singing.
