frogs vs. humans

...rane called the periosteum. Another area we studied is the muscular system. Like humans, the frog skeleton is moved by muscles. Muscles give protection to the organs.Muscles are the largest portion of a vertebrate's body. Both have striated, smooth, and cardiac muscles within their bodies. Differences include's the frog's pectoralis covers most of the chest and is fairly larger than that of a human. Also, the external oblique and the transverse are formed by two thin sheets of these muscles. As human's, we lack a transverse. In the human body, the internal organs are stored in either one of three body cavities, the thoracic, abdomenal, or pelvic. The thoracic and the abdominalpelvic cavities are sparated by the muscle, the diaphragm. The frog does not have a diaphgram. All the frog's internal organs including the lungs, heart, and all organs of digestions are held in one hollow space. Also, unlike human's, female frogs have ovaries that move through the oviduckts unto the uteri, then throught the cloaca outside the body. When disecting my frog, I was overwhelmed with how many ovaries are inside the body cavity. I also couldn't believe the size difference between young and mature female's oviducts. Like humans, the central nervous system consists of the brain, and the spinal cord. Frog's have nerves which branch out from the spinal cord. Also, frog's digestive tract is similar then that of human's. Both stomach's have a J-shape. Both stomach's use contraction which keeps foodin the stomach until it is partly digested by the gastric juice and broken up mechainically by a churning action. Human's and Frog's both have the enzyme, Pepsin, which initiates the splitting of proteins. The most obvious difference between the human circulatroy system and the frog's is the heart. The human heart consists of 4 chambers, a right and left atrium, and a right and left ventricle. The frog, however, only consists of three. A left and right atrium, and one lower ventricle. Blood is carried to the heart in veins. Blood from both atria goes into the ventricle and then is pumped into the artieries, which are blood vessels that carry blood away from the heart....
