This story really catches your attention and makes you want to stop and think. The theme of the story is about racism. The author’s main character, Desiree, and her husband, Armand, finds out that she is black through their child. This causes a big conflict between the two of them. Desiree herself being without no name and no family background never gave up on her love for Armand or her child. At first Armand’s love for his wife and son was endless. Once Armand realized his wife and child was black, his love for them withered away quickly especially when it came to his reputation and his French name. The author uses various images throughout the story so you can picture it in your mind as if you were there. ...
