She was put in the cave so no one had to kill her, but she would suffocate. Creon said if he didn't take control, then Antigone would be "The man." That shows that men had to be in control always. Creon told Haemon (Antigone's fiancé) that he was a "Women's slave," When Haemon (Creon's son) stood up for her, because it was his fiancé. When Tireasias (the old blind prophet) said that if Antigone wasn't freed and Polyneices wasn't buried that the gods would punish one of Creon's loved ones. Creon then went to bury Polyneices first. Then on the way to get Antigone from the cave. Haemon (Creon's son) was standing next to Antigone's body; she had hung herself with her close. Haemon then swung his sword at Creon and missed. Haemon then stabbed himself. The messenger went and told Creon's wife what had happened and she went in there house and killed herself. In A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen women still didn't have the rights they do today. The play was written in the late nineteenth century. In the play women were supposed to take care of the house and children. Men took care of the bills and provided money for the family, weakness was unacceptable towards women. In the play Torvald worked himself sick so he could give his wife, Nora money to buy presents. Nora had to give a reason for every purchase she made. Nora had a secret that no one knew about. She had to keep the secret or Torvald would leave her. Her secret was that she had made a loan from the bank and forged her father's signature so she could get it. Women were not trusted with money. With the money Nora got from the loan she took Torvald to Italy to save his life. When Torvald finally found out about what Nora did, he went crazy. Nora then did one of the most uncommon things back then and walked out on Torvald. In the movie Bend it like Beckham the roles of men and women change a little. The movie takes place in London, England. Jess (the main character) loves to play soccer and her mother doesn't like her playing it. Her mother wants her to stop playing soccer and get married.
