One Evening, I raced up to my grandma in order to say out some of the things that have been bothering me, at the same time taking care not to knock over her little stool, and before I was able to get a word out, she says sternly, ¡°Act more like a lady, stop running around.¡± Then Dong Dong comes running in, knocking over that same stool I avoided, and hides under the sofa. ¡°What is it dear?¡± my grandma asks ever so sweetly. ¡°Oh, nothing. Grandma, hush, or they¡¯ll find me,¡± He replies. Guess what my grandma¡¯s response was? She simply smiles and says, ¡°Don¡¯t worry I won¡¯t let them lay a finger on you sweetie.¡± Clearly, she adores him and overlooks my presence. She did not notice when I took my leave or perhaps she was too focused on how my cousin might catch a cold lying on the ground like door mat, whatever the reason is it¡¯s not going to change the inequality that looms over my side of the table. Gradually, I noticed that I was not the only one sharing this view. My friends, being girls that is, felt the same unfairness presented through their family.
