The situation before the Kartini’s movement was unfavorable condition for women in Indonesia because they did not have the same rights and opportunities as men did, especially in education level. This condition led to women’s social inferiority. However, when women achieve as relatively high education as men do, they get much confidence in playing a social role in their community, for instance, initiating a social project, or getting the same responsibility level as men do in social activities. Moreover, they will have a broad view and good understanding in social matter and get high appreciation from the people whom they deal with. The other positive effect is that women can contribute financially to the family. Many families either in big cities or rural areas allow women to take part in sharing financial responsibility today. Most families in Indonesia, especially in rural areas, are economically marginal people. For example, they cannot afford their children’s education even the basic needs. Therefore, it will be difficult if there is not financial responsibility sharing between husband and wife. Furthermore, there is almost no distinction right between man and woman workers. For example, they have the same wages and opportunities to get a higher position in management. These conditions give an opportunity for women to get a job and make money for the family.
