Almost all kinds of information from all over the world can be found on the Internet. The use of electronic mail or E-mail on the Internet has also become popular because it allows people to communicate easily and cheaply. For example, internet cafes are mushrooming everywhere so it is easy to access the Internet. Most people in big cities are very busy or travel a lot, so it is difficult to make an appointment with them or to send a message to them. Instead of using cellular phone which is very expensive, people prefer to use E-mail to communicate with each other. For example, college students used to have trouble when making appointments with their faculty because the faculty always had a very busy schedule. However, today, students can communicate or submit their assignment’s drafts to the faculty by E-mail. On the contrary, some people, especially teenagers, have become addicted to surfing the internet without filtering the information. Since children and teenagers are not mature enough and easily imitate what they have seen, Indonesia has a strict rules on television programs, especially films and commercials, and mass media in order to protect children and teenagers from pornography and violence.
