God destroyed it without hurting a single righteous person through a feast fire which is illustrated in the picture. The picture showed me as the viewer horror, pain and lose. What made you choose this piece?: in the section of the museum where jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot painting where on exhibition, this was the darkest paint there. This picture stood out because of the facial expressions on the family running away from the city, the artist was able to bring out the terror and fear to live in a peace of art. Do you like it? Why or why not?: I liked this picture, it gave me a feeling inside as if I could feel what the charactering in this painting was feeling. The shadowy figure standing looking at the burning city also made me like this picture. All I could think about is what could have been going through his head What does the piece say about its era, or movement? This picture was painting in reference to the city which was destroyed by god through fire. To me it captured the moment of destruction in this era. From looking at this picture I as the viewer can see there was much lost in the burning of the city Sodom.
