... it shows that when they suffer a loss of control over enviroment, this threatens their view of themselves and compensate through controlling others will occur to regain their view that they have control. People want to control everything they want and show their power in a good way to prove themselves. When they mostly lose control, it can cause a conflict in the relationship. Take a man who is a businessman and lost a big amount of money for his company as result of irresponsibility and this bad event made him too upset. So he can start thinking that to lose money in work can affect the authority of him in the family like his children can look at him as a bad worker. As a result, he starts to control over his family more than before to proe himself. Another reason for controlling over others is mastery-being a leader of the relationship-. ( Bandura, 1989 ) As we know, to be a leader of anything is a very important notion in the world. Most people want to be the leader and this is the same in relationships. When people feel incompetent, they may regain the perceived control by controlling their partner and this makes that person the leader of the relationship. For example, a boss is the leader of the company and the father is the leader of the family. Mastery can affect all those things in a good or way. For example, if the boss uses his / her power in an immature way, or manupulates workers, it can cause a lot of problems in that company but on the other hand if the father behaves in a good way to his family, there can be good things.
