My Career Goals and The Steps it Takes to Get There.
...my family. I chose to pursue a career in nursing because I want to help infants and children live healthier and happier lives. My first step to becoming a pediatric nurse is to be ordained class valedictorian at my current high school and then attend either Mercer University or the University of Central Florida. I plan to earn my bachelor’s degree in nursing within four to five years. Then after passing the nursing exams required to become a registered nurse, I plan to work on my master’s degree. I plan to do this by entering a nurse practitioner program, where I will specialize in pediatrics. To become nationally certified I must pass a national nurse certification test in my field of study. As a pediatric nurse practitioner my ultimate goal is to work at one of the top ranked pediatric hospital in the country. My preference would be Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta because that’s where I am from. During my career as a nurse I will work in the pediatric intensive care unit, physical rehabilitation center, the trauma center, and the neurology department. As a nurse I would like to enhance the health of as many children as I can, because I have a strong compassion for children and their well-being. Along with my compassion for a child’s health, I also believe children should always have a positive place to go. Along with my Masters in Nursing, I would also like to obtain an associate degree in business and entrepreneurship.
