It is a law to prevent other people from forcing other people to believe in a certain religion. For example, in the court case Abington v. Schempp (1989), the establishment clause prohibits the reciting of prayer and bible reading among public schools. The court ruled that the teachers are there to help the children not any one religion. The courts didn’t rule against the teachin of religion but said that they need to teach each religion. This clause in this situation helped make religion equal among public schools. To let the student decide what religion is best for them. There is way to much pressure when your young to join certain religions. The Free Exercise clause is found in the first and the fourteenth Amendments. It means that the government can’t interfere with the practice of religion or prohibiting the free exercise of religion.
