...n the way they want to or help them understand what they are going through is not how they should be living. Technical aspects help audience understand the theme of the performance. The show was balanced by different styles of dance; tap, ballet, hip-hop, jazz, lyrical and modern which made the show spectacular and extravagant. Lighting was very important in this show. Different colors of light suggest different moods and help themes to stand out. Its vibrant colors and suggestive shadows throw off gametes of emotions and cause a lot of different moods for dances among the audience. Lighting affects the mood and atmosphere of the dancer’s in this piece and creates beautiful productions. In some of the dances lighting stayed the same through out the dance, which created interesting mood in the beginning of the piece but it took away the excitement from the rest of the dance. The dance called “Lost” from “Dance Montage” used different lighting aspects for the beat and scene change, various lighting portrayed different moods and helped audience understanding the theme of the dance. Facial expression is really significant in any art piece and it contributes a lot toward the performances. Whether it is, sadness, happiness, love, fear, anger, all these techniques can be communicated from the human face to the audience within seconds .Dancers from “Dance Montage” did an excellent piece of work expressing their feelings and facial expressions through out the show. Costumes are amazing to look at on stage and it definitely communicates with the audience as well as their character and the mood they want to portray. What I noticed about the show is that lot of dances included impressive costumes, but there were few performances that didn’t have any costumes at all or they didn’t stand out. Different feelings were created in the show by containing all of those techniques. My feelings about “Dance Montage” are very impressive, considering the time they were given to learn the dances. Some dances were well done, while some were excellent. The dances that stood out were done mostly all together with very few errors. The steps were clear, appropriate, and were skillfully accomplished. All the moves matched the song, variety of original steps, movements and amazing techniques that were used. There were different levels, patterns, and formations applied. Dancers captured the feeling of the song perfectly and tempo matched beat of the songs.
