As a freshman, we travel in packs to the bathroom, play the sports our friends play, and take the classes our friends take. The more I grew up, the more I realized that the followers will always do what others do, and that by being true to yourself, you discover parts of yourself that you never knew existed . The person I will be after graduation, will be because of the failures, the tears and the accomplishments, and these will ultimately make me realize that anything is possible as long as we can openly and actively imagine it. Growing up a child, I felt as if I took many journeys that led me to discover the answer to many important truths. My father started me off early, explaining to me his mistakes and his hopes and dreams for my brother and I. From then, I slowly listened and observed as my parents stressed to give us everything they had, put carefully wrapped presents under the tree, and to be the best parent to their ability. For their experiences I thank them. I did not see the blindfolds. I did not appreciate the real truths, that everything in life comes with the grueling everyday experience of working. As a seventeen year old high school student, I’ve already jumped into the working life, and at the same time balance a difficult course schedule, that follow successful grades. I am now extremely thankful that I am able to take advantage of all the opportunities that life has to offer. The failures I have encountered are at last, the scars that I look back on each day.
