Cloning Should Not be Allowed in our Society

...verweight under normal feeding conditions. Since Dolly was born sick, would cloned individuals be born sick as well? Scientists are still questioning this fact. It is my opinion, that “This Great God, Like a Mammy Bending over Her Baby”, was actually sending scientists and the world a clear message. God just got tired of Mr. Severino’s attempts at the creation process.. He knew Mr. Severino would continue to play with the genetic pool until he created a monster. Afterall, Mr. Severino, it is not like you were attempting to create a filament for the light bulb. Yes, Mr. Franklin had many, many failed attempts, but at least he was in the will of God with his creation. Emotions, lets take a look at how one may react once they realize what took place in the cloning process. Shouldn’t we all be concerned? What would happen to a child who grows up knowing that her mother is really her sister, or that her grandmother is really her mother. What about a mother looking at her daughter and seeing herself, how devastating could that be? If a child is made in the direct image of a dead loved one, would he/she be able to cope with that? What psychiatrist in this world would be able to counsel that nightmare away? 4. Religiously speaking, human cloning is a direct attempt to usurp authority over the dominion of God. Deuteronomy 32:39 clearly states “See now that I myself am he! There is no God besides me. I put to death, and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one will deliver out of my hand.” God, and God alone, has the right to give life, and to take life. In a case study, approximately 95% of all evangelicals polled wanted cloning to be illegal. In a poll of cloning attitudes, by denomination, Atheists ruled more favorable towards cloning than any other of the religious groups polled. God has the sole power over creation. “Know ye that the Lord, he is God. It is he who has made us and not we ourselves” (Psalms 100:3). “We are the work of Gods hand, he is the potter. We are the clay”(Isaiah 64:8). Again, we revert back to the mentality of Zack. “Those who know your name will put their trust in you” (Psalms 9:10). Mr. Severino can’t possibly know the God who says “I AM THAT I AM”. Mr. Severino apparently thinks that he is that he is. Well, so much for the jokes. This is an extremely serious matter. Engineering human life is out of the question, as is taking human life. If one is a sin the other one must be too. In conclusion, I just would like to say, the breath of life was given to us by the Father. “The Lord God formed man from the dust of the earth. He blew into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul” .It has been stated, but never proven that a human has been cloned. No country has yet to 5. produce the cloned one. I don’t believe it will ever happen. It will only happen if God allows it to happen, then there will be great repercussions. What type of mentality will the man/woman have who can honestly; openly watch countless thousands of babies be born just to die. It will be a great judgment day a coming if God should allow this great catastrophe to take place. Brenda Best English 113 March 1, 2006 Ms. Page Cloning should not be allowed in our Society Rosemary had a baby. Rosemary had already had four miscarried babies, and one still birth. Her husband was having much difficulty accepting the fact that he would never be a father. Zack and Rosemary argued many times over the matter of black market babies, or adoption. Rosemary was determined that she would soon be able to bear, not one, but many children. “Just have faith darling, God is able and he will supply all of our needs, as well as our wants, he will give us the desire of our hearts” she said. Rosemary went on to say “The word tells us that God is not a man, that he should lie, neither is he the son of man, that he should repent. Has he said, and he will not do it? Or has he spoken and will not fulfill it”? (Numbers 23;19). Rosemary was correct in her statement. According to the Bible, we must not take the will of God into our own little finite hands. God is in control of destiny. He always has been, and always will be. He never changes from one day to the next. If God did change, the above scripture would not be true .I can understand how Zack must have felt, but his faith was in man, not in the will of God. Zack must have said in his own mind, “I will fix this situation; we will just buy a baby”. 2. Thank God Zack and Rosemary did not have the problem of inability to produce an egg. There are such cases where the man has no sperm to produce. In this case he could have his own DNA inserted into his partner’s egg which would create a clone of him. Rosemary and Zack went on a fast before the Lord, prayed together daily and produced healthy Norman twins, The whole of this matter is, people just don’t trust God enough. Now don’t get me wrong, I am not Bible beating. I am purely making a statement. The whole darn world has gone crazy. Since the creation of the microwave oven, everything is now hurried up! We now live in a microwave generation. Once we have come to this thing of cloning humans, we just have gone overboard. There is not much left that we can do. I have found a few reasons that are clearly legitimate, why we should not clone humans. First off, let us give the definition of cloning. The Encyclopedia Britannica defines cloning as; population of genetically identical cells, or organisms that are derived originally from a single, or original cell or organism by asexual methods. There are many heath risks associated with cloning. Genetic research has proven that out of 1000 attempts at cloning animals, over 970-999 failures have happened. That is extremely a lot of tries for the few that worked. For those attempts that did work, problems in the animals arose later. Once the animals became adults these problems had already manifested.. The testing of the animals has shown us what might happen when 3. we attempt to clone humans. Look at Dolly, the cloned sheep. She made it to this earth after 277 attempts. Dolly was later put to sleep, probably because of her suffering. She was said to have developed a lung disease. It was also reported that she may have developed arthritis, was getting old before her time and became grossly overweight under normal feeding conditions. Since Dolly was born sick, would cloned individuals be born sick as well? Scientists are still questioning this fact. It is my opinion, that “This Great God, Like a Mam...
