...ash back throughout. It was not like a play because a series of motifs occurred and each section was broken up to highlight the abilities of each character. The director says “it is the opening scene that looks much like an end…” and then goes on to discuss the actual concept of the performance. From my point of view, I interpreted the physical theatre as the following. The performance opens in the middle of a horrible storm where we see a large white cloth which may or may not have been present to represent wind or waves. Throughout this scene, it seems that the characters are on a ship of some sort and are battling with the sea and the storm. The white cloth then engulfs them and the scene moves on. There are many amazing scenes that stay with you even after the dramatic performance has ended. These were: Table- The table scene is where the characters are all sitting around a big wooden wheel as their table and they are playing some sort of game. The table then changes and takes many forms; some where it is a large person cart-wheeling from either side of the stage. Sofa- The sofa scene is when the characters are all sitting on a sofa and changing positions every now and again. The sofa then eats them. Gate- The gate scene is where it appears that the gate is to a castle or something of that and it is there to keep out the amazingly acrobatic creatures. Giant swing- In this scene there appears to be a giant swing that is a boat of some sort and acrobatic work is done on it. Chair- This was the scene where the director himself did tricks using only himself and a chair. He acted as if all of the bones in his body were non-existent. He flopped around and whenever he tried to sit down he would fall over. Mime at Tables- In this scene there were two mimes sitting at two tables. They both did everything at exactly the same time.
