In April, I had to drive to Boston, Massachusetts in order to file for unemployment benefits (worked in Boston in 2002). I was not reimbursed for any of the travel expenses relating to this trip. In May, I drove to Fort Myers, Florida and spent approximately a week there trying to secure a job. Since I failed the welding test, I was not employed. Naturally, there was no compensation for my travel expenses. I cannot locate the hotel receipts, but I believe the room was approximately $85.00 per night for 6 nights in Fort Myers, and 2 additional nights travel there and back. Also in May, I traveled to Colorado Springs, Colorado at the promise of work there. After waiting approximately 2 weeks, I moved on to Las Vegas to sign up for a job there. After a week and no job, I had to return due to financial difficulties, i.e., couldn’t afford to continue to pay hotel expenses, which were $80.00 per night approximately.
